Mercury Revenue Grows by Third

Mercury, one of the market leaders in the Quality Assurance industry has seen its revenue grow an astounding 34%, compared to the same quarter in 2003.

Q4 to 31/12/2004 saw revenue reach $204.3m. This level of growth can be seen across the whole year, with revenue ballooning 35% to $685.5m from $506.5m.

Earnings Per Share were $0.36 for Q4. For the whole of 2004, EPS was $0.83.

“2004 was our most successful year ever,” said Amnon Landan, chairman and CEO at Mercury. “Our customers are expanding their investments in Mercury Optimization Center offerings as they take an enterprise approach to streamlining IT.”

The company, whose flagship products are Winrunner and Loadrunner are riding a wave of interest in ensuring QA. As technology becomes commoditised, companies have little to differentiate themselves from their competitors in terms of functionality. The only aspect is the quality of the build. Hence the interest in testing and consequently test tools.

The good news is likely to continue. Q1 of 2005, management is forecasting revenue to push $200m
