Environment Agency and Business Continuity

The UK's Environment Agency is updating its business continuity plans. Targets include improved capability for critical business activities continue to operate in the in even of disruptions such as floods or system crashes.

Consultancy Garrison Continuity is helping the agency. A business continuity management framework is to be developed and implemented over the next six months.

The project is in two phases. The first consists of a business impact and risk analysis study. Second, will involve rolling out the plan.

“By taking a proactive approach to planning, we will be able to identify critical nodes, build resilience into our operational processes and allocate resources more efficiently,” commented Rob Somers, the Environment Agency's project manager.

Garrison's customers include, Transport For London, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Severn Trent.
