* (SU3) Appointing a Project Management Team
* (SU4) Preparing a Project Brief
* (SU5) Defining Project Approach
* (SU6) Planning an Initiation Stage
Why
Prince2 seeks with this process to establish:-
* Who will make the decisions
* The product to be delivered (in broad terms)
* The expected quality
* Why the project should be done
* Establish a risk log
* How much effort it will take to plan the project.
When
At the very start of a project. It is anticipated the length taken for this process will be short in comparison to the length of the project.
