RSA Security has announced a new regulatory compliance tool for Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA amongst others.

RSA® Reporting and Compliance Manager will help users of the ClearTrust® web access management software. The new tool provides centralized reporting capabilities.

RSA claim that the logging functionality of RSA ClearTrust gives auditing and reporting benefits in relation to both past and present policies. This enables companies to implement best practice in line with Sarbanes-Oxley

The new tool will interpret logs generated by ClearTrust and turn out customised reports.

“Many regulations share common, fundamental requirements to verify access controls and monitor user activity. Organizations are now expected to prove that only authorized users have been granted access to protected information, that access rights are being update in a timely manner, and that the organization has enforced proper separation of duties,” said Chris Christiansen, Program Vice President, IDC’s Security Products and Infrastructure Overview services. “Effective and accurate logging and reporting on user access on a real-time basis will be a cornerstone of an effective compliance program.”

Reporting and Compliance Manager is due to ship in June 2005.
